Equipment Repurposing Volunteer
Role
Tentshare, a sharing economy enterprise, is seeking passionate individuals to join as Equipment Repurposing Volunteers. In this role, you will actively contribute to a greener, more conscious world by repurposing and recycling outdoor equipment. By tackling waste head-on, you’ll also gain knowledge about carbon emissions how we calculate our carbon savings and their impact on the planet.
Requirements
We are looking for volunteers who have a genuine passion for sustainability, regeneration and recycling, along with a basic knowledge of outdoor equipment and repairs (although training can be provided). You should be able to travel to and from Royston, Herts, work independently, and dedicate a minimum of 2-10 hours per week to this role.

As an Equipment Repurposing Volunteer, you will have the opportunity to work closely with the visionary founder of Tentshare, gaining hands-on experience in the sustainability sector. You’ll develop practical skills in equipment repair, repurposing, and recycling, receiving the necessary training to become a sustainability champion. Additionally, you’ll have the chance to network with like-minded individuals and organizations, and upon completion of your significant contribution, you will receive a glowing reference letter to boost your CV/resume.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include inspecting and repairing donated outdoor equipment, identifying repairs and refurbishments needed, and repurposing used items for innovative projects. You’ll also take part in cutting-edge recycling initiatives for components that can’t be repurposed, ensuring proper disposal of non-recyclable parts. Documentation and inventory management will be important aspects of the role, and you’ll be encouraged to engage with the local community, spreading Tentshare’s mission and leading workshops. Outdoor work may be required, depending on project requirements and weather conditions.

Volunteer Social Media Assistant
We’re seeking a dedicated Volunteer Social Media Assistant to join our team at Tentshare, a platform championing the circular and sharing economy. Our mission is to make outdoor exploration affordable, accessible, and sustainable by facilitating the borrowing and lending of camping equipment. As a Volunteer Social Media Assistant, you’ll have the power to raise awareness about Tentshare’s regenerative mission and inspire action. This role offers a unique opportunity to acquire new skills, build an impressive CV, and contribute to the disruptive sustainability and regeneration sectors.
Requirements
Requirements for this position include a genuine interest in sustainability and the sharing economy, as well as a passion to disrupt the current consumption mindset. Basic knowledge of social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn is necessary, along with strong written and verbal communication skills. A creative mindset is essential for developing compelling content that captivates and motivates our audience. Proficiency in graphic design tools like Canva or Adobe Photoshop is a plus, but not required. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently are important, and you should be available to dedicate a minimum of 2-10 hours per week to this voluntary role.

Responsibilities
Content creation for Tentshare’s social media platforms, including crafting engaging posts, designing captivating visuals, and curating relevant articles and resources. As the Social Media Manager, you’ll schedule and publish impactful posts, monitor comments and messages, and respond promptly and professionally to inquiries or feedback. Engaging with our online community is crucial, as you’ll actively like, share, and comment on follower posts, fostering meaningful discussions and driving passion for sustainability. Collaborating with the team, you’ll support social media campaigns by researching trends, identifying influencers or partners, and assisting with campaign tracking and reporting. It’s also essential to stay updated on social media trends, sustainability news, and developments in the circular economy and regeneration sectors, sharing insights and recommendations to optimize our strategy.
