Owners Agreement

Please read the Tentshare Pledge. Once you have listed your tent and outdoor eqipment, you are agreeing to become part of the exclusive little Tentshare community and are agreeing to stick to the Tentshare Pledge.

+ A Tentshare owner endeavours to respond promptly to any queries or requests.

Try and strike up a conversation with your potential renter, this will ensure that the booking is suitable for the adventure the renter is planning and acceptable to you. Communicating quickly and honestly with the renter will demonstrate that you are a trustworthy Tentshare owner.

+ Don’t forget that the hirer will be reviewing you.

This review system has proved to work really well and helps to protect both the hirer and the Tentshare Host. It is strongly advisable to try and build up a good rating and keep it high. The following are ways we have found to help keep high ratings:

  1. Always make sure that tents and equipment are clean, complete and neatly packed, ready for the hirer to use easily and safely.

  2. Always provide a checklist to enable a simple unpacking and repacking process.

  3. Always provide appropriate instructions for the safe pitching and correct operation of equipment and tents. These can be in the form of a print out or a link to a video.

  4. Always provide accurate photos and descriptions of the tent and/or equipment. The more clear you are about what you are hiring out, the easier it will be for the renter to find the tent and equipment they need. You will also be more likely to receive a better review if you are open and honest.

+ It is important to inspect all returned equipment and tents within 7 days of the return date.

Once the tent and equipment has been returned, communicate with Tentshare immediately and instruct the release of the deposit or submit a report outlining reasons why any deposit is being retained.

+ A great Tentshare Host does their absolute best not to cancel a booking unless there are extenuating circumstances.

Cancellations are massively frowned upon in the Tentshare community, as they can ruin plans for holidays or celebrations and cause great disappointment and break the trust. For this reason, there will be penalties imposed if you cancel a booking within 10 working days, and you may even be asked to leave the community.

It is at your discretion whether you provide a delivery and/or set-up service, and if so, this will be subject to mutually agreed additional costs between you and the renter.

Please do ensure that there is a surplus of tent pegs, as we know these often magically disappear in a similar way to odd socks!
