🌟At all times the renter must use a ‘common sense’ approach to borrowing tents and equipment.🌟
When you have found the tent you would like to rent, there are a few codes of conduct that we expect from all Tentshare members. Please read the following agreement carefully.
*If you are booking a festival rent, please read the extra conditions outlined below.*
+ A Tentshare renter communicates with the tent owner
Once you’ve decided on the perfect tent for you, please contact the Tent owner to let them know your camping plans. This will allow them and you to assess whether the tent you have chosen is appropriate for your adventure. The Tent owner can also offer lots of advice and tips to make your camping experience truly fabulous.
+ A Tentshare renter understands that they are borrowing someone’s pride and joy
This is why a deposit is required before the tent and equipment can be released to you. The deposit will be held by Tentshare or the tent owner, depending on what you both agree, and released once the Tent owner has inspected the returned tent and kit. The tent owner confirms to Tentshare that it is all in good order. This will be done within 7 working days of the return date.
+ The Tentshare renter will make every effort to take great care of the owner’s tent and equipment.
The tent and kit will always be returned clean and dry.
In particular, it’s important to read all instructions provided by the owner carefully before attempting to pitch the tent or use the equipment, this way unnecessary damage can be avoided.
Upon pitching the tent or using the equipment, please make note of any missing equipment or defects and report them to the owner as soon as possible.
The tent must be swept inside and packed away clean and dry (Tip: If the tent is wet, we find a night spread out in the living room following the camping trip will allow a wet tent time to dry.). If it is not possible to dry the tent before returning the tent, a service charge of £20 will be taken from the deposit.
In the unlikely event that damage beyond normal wear and tear has been incurred, or equipment is missing, the repair, extreme cleaning and replacement charges will be taken from the deposit or made against the credit card. You will be notified and entitled to challenge the charges before any payment is taken.
+ A Tentshare member agrees to review and be reviewed after a tent rental transaction.
Don’t forget that as well as reviewing your experience with the owner, they will also be reviewing you. This review system has proved to work really well and helps to protect both the person renting the tent and kit and the owner. It is strongly advisable to try and build up a good rating and keep it high.
You will also be more likely to receive a better review if you are open and honest.
+ A Tentshare member knows that it is important to keep all campers safe and happy!
+ Most importantly, Tentshare members take care of our natural environment, leaving no trace behind.
+ *Additional festival rent conditions:
1. During the festival, you agree to pitch the tent yourself in the allocated area, this will help to keep the tent from being damaged. You will be shown this area by the Tentshare crew.
2. You will make sure you know how to pitch the tent before you arrive at the festival by reading the provided instructions and/or viewing the instructional video provided by the tent and kit owner.
3. You will return the tent on the last morning of the festival (if not before) before 10am.
4. You will ensure it is correctly labelled and has been booked in as returned by the Tentshare crew member.
5. You will make every effort to return the tent packed away and dry. In the event of rain, contact the Tentshare crew member to discuss the best course of action. This may be to leave the tent erect and wait for the rain to stop and the tent to dry or to bring the wet tent and hang it in the provided gazebo. This decision will be made in response to the weather conditions.
