So what is Tentshare?
Tentshare is essentially like Airbnb for tents, Fresh-Airbnb if you like!
Here at Tentshare, we are passionate about three things; camping, protecting the environment and well being. Therefore we want to bring the joy of camping to as many people as we can, without adding to the landfilled graveyard of unused, unwanted tents.
On the Tentshare platform campers can rent out their tent and make a bit of extra cash OR potential campers can come and find exactly the outdoor experience they want and then rent that perfect tent for a weekend, a celebration or a longer trip.
Tentshare was conceived when Rebecca (founder of Tentshare) decided to rent out her beautiful and much-loved bell tent. There was a steady demand for the tent and it was successfully rented out in 2018/19 for sleepover parties, camp outs and even a wedding celebration! However, Rebecca wanted to reach more customers and began to search for a platform, like Airbnb, to put her tent on. She discovered there was no such platform available and so she decided to build one!
The Tentshare Mission
Tentshare’s mission is to contribute to a new sustainable way of living without compromise. Rebecca passionately believes that three factors promote well-being which are: connecting with nature, being part of a community and living wholeheartedly. For that reason, the Tentshare website is creating a sharing, caring camping community. By sharing and hiring tents instead buying new, we are helping to reduce consumption and waste and also contributing to the local and circular economy. Rebecca strongly believes that the ‘sharing economy’ business model goes some way to providing a solution to many of the problems we are all facing in this world today.
Therefore we have a Tentshare Pledge in which Tentshare urges every member to read and agree to:
The Tentshare Pledge
Trustworthiness: A Tentshare member is honest, reliable and has integrity.
Equality: A Tentshare member treats everyone within the Tentshare community with fairness and according to their specific needs.
Nature: A Tentshare member treads softly on this earth. They respect the environment and make it their responsibility to look after the world we live in.
Tolerance & tranquility: A Tentshare member is polite and considerate when interacting within the community. They are willing to share any challenges with peace in their heart.
